The Internet Brazil Program is a joint initiative of the Ministry of Communications and the Ministry of Education. This program was created to bring internet connection and digital inclusion to students and their families, and is supported by the National Education and Research Network (RNP). The program was created by the President of Brazil, Jair Bolsonaro, through a Provisional Measure (MP), with the aim of promoting free access to mobile broadband internet for public school students. To be part of the program, students must be part of families registered in the Single Register for Social Programs of the Federal Government.
In a community publication on his official YouTube channel, Bolsonaro explains that 6,250 public school students in the states of Rio Grande do Norte, Pernambuco, Paraíba and Bahia will benefit from the 20GB per month data package.
